About The Warren Commission
The Warren Commission, established to investigate the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy in 1963, concluded in its report that:
- Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in assassinating President Kennedy.
- Oswald used a Mannlicher-Carcano rifle to shoot Kennedy from the Texas School Book Depository in Dallas, Texas.
The commission also found that:
- There was no credible evidence of a conspiracy, domestic or foreign, to assassinate the president.
- Jack Ruby, who killed Oswald two days after the assassination, also acted alone without any significant organized crime influence.
The commission's findings have been subject to extensive debate and numerous conspiracy theories, but these were the primary conclusions of the official investigation.
President Trump's January 23, 2025, executive order mandates the declassification of records on the assassinations of JFK, RFK, and MLK Jr., directing plans for full release within 15 to 45 days to promote transparency.
